Care Home and Charity Work

I provide specialist programs along with specialist reduced prices for care homes, nursing homes and charitable events.  I'm a strong believer that music is a powerful tool in helping to alleviate depression, loneliness and pain.  My music is mainly from the decades of the 1920's-2000's  with lots from the 40, 50's, 60's and 70's which seems to suit my audience demographic well.  A good mix of styles including popular, standards, jazz country, easy listening, musical theatre and soft rock.  There are three elements to all my programs and I call these MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT.

MIND: Musical programmes are designed to promote well-being through social interaction and the enjoyment of music.  I endeavour to greet each resident and introduce myself, taking a note of their names.  But in all my programs there is stimulating talk about the music and artistes, to promote memory and recall.  I like to include stories about my own life and welcome the residents in  sharing theirs if they wish to.  It's about forming relationships and getting a dialogue going.

BODY: I encourage movement without making people feel forced.  Foot tapping, hand clapping, swaying and some moves, like a hand jive!  But I often find that dance and movement happen spontaneously and naturally when people are enjoying themselves - I'm a big fan of sitting down dancing!

 

SPIRIT: Music can make our spirits soar and help us to express emotions that are locked inside us  I never shy away from residents emotions; the happiest of songs can produce tears, and I think it is a positive thing when residents feel they can express any emotion; and music allows this.  It's what speaks  to the individual that counts.   Ultimately, music is the one art form that is easily accessed by all and truly has the power to move our souls.

All sessions are completely self contained  with my own portable P.A. system used with high quality backing tracks.  All you need to provide is a table and power supply.

PRICES CARE HOMES AND NURSING HOMES: £80 for a single session - This is one hour of cabaret and additional music either-side amounting to approximately 1hour 15mins music in total.

CHARITY EVENTS: NEGOTIABLE DEPENDANT ON SIZE OF EVENT AND DISTANCE.

Weekends, bank holidays, evenings: £95

​

For distances exceeding 20 miles or more - £10 expenses is charged within the Worcesterhsire area.  Beyond that its negotiable.
